The Cabin has reposted John’s essay, “Return of the Authentic,” as part of their Writers at Home series. The Cabin is a Boise, Idaho literary arts organization that forges community through the voices of all readers, writers, and learners. Monday through Friday through June, they are posting online literature and lessons, including poems, essays, lessons, prompts, and stories to help us all through the isolation, fear, and confusion of this unique moment of social distance.

The University of New Mexico Press has added a “Spring Showcase” of this season’s authors to their website. Read how their authors, including John, answer the question “How can books help us understand, cope with, or escape from the realities of the world?” You can also view a video of John reading from the first chapter of A Hundred Little Pieces on the End of the World.
New Story in Limberlost Review
John’s short story “Getting Wood” appears in the 2020 edition of Limberlost Review, a literary journal of the Mountain West published by Limberlost Press in Boise. It’s a beautiful collection of poetry, fiction, essays, artwork, and other personal writing by some award-winning contributors.
